The barrier isn't a luxury.
It's the foundation.
A compromised skin barrier doesn't just cause dryness and sensitivity — it actively limits what any treatment can do. When the barrier is damaged, active ingredients penetrate unpredictably, irritation amplifies, and results plateau regardless of what's applied.
The Barrier Stabilization add-on restores the lipid matrix, improves water retention, and rebuilds the structural integrity that makes all active treatment more effective. For many patients, it's the prerequisite for tolerating retinoid therapy at all.
-
01
Lipid Matrix Restoration
Replenishes the ceramides and fatty acids that hold skin cells together — restoring the physical seal that prevents transepidermal water loss and external irritants from penetrating.
-
02
Hydration Retention
Enhances the skin's ability to draw and hold moisture within the dermis — addressing chronic dryness at the structural level rather than just coating the surface.
-
03
Retinoid Tolerance
Reduces the dryness, redness, and sensitivity that can occur during retinoid initiation — allowing treatment to progress faster and at higher concentrations without discomfort.
-
04
Inflammation Reduction
A stable barrier reduces the chronic low-grade inflammation associated with sensitive and reactive skin — improving baseline skin tone and reducing redness over time.
Structured repair.
Compounded precisely.
The Barrier Stabilization add-on is compounded with ingredients chosen for their complementary roles in barrier function — hydration, lipid replenishment, and inflammation control working together.
Ceramides are the primary structural lipids of the skin barrier — making up approximately 50% of the stratum corneum lipid matrix. Topical ceramide delivery directly replenishes what is lost through damage, ageing, or over-exfoliation.
A glycosaminoglycan capable of holding up to 1000x its weight in water. Multi-weight hyaluronic acid penetrates at different skin depths — providing both surface hydration and deeper dermal moisture retention.
Stimulates ceramide synthesis in keratinocytes, reduces transepidermal water loss, and calms the redness and sensitivity associated with barrier compromise. A key ingredient for tolerating active treatment.
Formulation is tailored to your specific presentation — whether barrier damage stems from over-exfoliation, environmental exposure, medication side effects, or an underlying condition. Your clinician determines the appropriate combination and concentration.
For skin that reacts
to everything.
If your skin stings, flushes, or breaks out when you introduce new products, the barrier is likely compromised — not the products themselves.
Reactive or sensitive skin, rosacea-prone skin, skin damaged by over-exfoliation or incorrect product use, and anyone who has struggled to tolerate retinoids or active treatments in the past.
Often prescribed before or alongside the Core Formula — your clinician may recommend starting with barrier stabilization first if your skin profile indicates low tolerance for retinoid initiation.
Barrier repair is typically one of the faster responses — most patients notice reduced sensitivity and improved hydration within 3–4 weeks. Full structural restoration takes longer and continues throughout treatment.
Even patients without obvious sensitivity can benefit. A well-functioning barrier improves the efficacy of all other actives by ensuring they penetrate predictably and without triggering unnecessary inflammation.
